The Forest Hills Golf Club

Established in 1926, Augusta University’s Forest Hills is a much loved staple within the Augusta, Georgia golf community. This 18-hole course holds remarkable history from Bobby Jones beginning. The course was originally designed by world renowned course architect Donald Ross, it was renovated by the Arnold Palmer Company in 2003.

This fairly young track was built in 2005 and designed by Rick Robbins. In 2017, Golf Advisor rated the course No. 18 on a top courses in Georgia list, and in 2018, it was ranked No. 21. The par 72 layout runs from a youth tee of 2,317 yards and on up to a back tee of 6,706 yards.

Palmetto, founded in 1892, was primarily designed by Herbert Leeds, the builder of Myopia Hunt Club near Boston, with major amendments in 1932 by Alister MacKenzie who was working on Augusta National (just 30 miles away). Ranking comfortably inside our Third 100 Greatest Courses, it’s a polished, jewel-box design draped over up and down topography with one of the country’s great sets of greens full of slick interior movements that slip away into a variety of undulous chipping areas.
